Penny Thew

Penny is an Assistant Project Manager within the Deakin Centre for Advanced Food Sciences, supporting the coordination, administration and delivery of research projects. She contributes to project planning, operational management, and stakeholder communication, helping ensure studies are executed efficiently and effectively. Penny works closely with academic staff, technical teams, and industry partners to facilitate smooth project workflows and maintain quality outcomes.

Penny holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science/Commerce from Deakin University. She was previously a student in the DeCAF-Academy program, an experience that sparked her interest in food science research and led her to her current role within the centre.
